Testosterone Replacement Therapy

As men age, testosterone levels made naturally in the body begin to diminish. At 518 Medspa, we treat low Testosterone using Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT). After a medical evaluation and bloodwork to assess current testosterone levels, we will develop a customized treatment plan that includes a prescription for a bioidentical testosterone injection. We will provide ongoing monitoring of your treatment plan to ensure a safe and effective therapy regimen.

What is Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT)?

Testosterone is a hormone that regulates things like sex drive, bone density, muscle mass and growth, and mood. It’s an important part of the body’s endocrine system. Bioidentical Hormones are medically developed in a laboratory and are engineered to be chemically identical to the hormones naturally produced in the body. As a result, people who suffer from low testosterone (Low-T) symptoms can benefit from BHRT. Each persons treatment is individualized and based upon their unique needs.

BHRT can come in multiple forms: pellets installed subcutaneously, weekly or bi-weekly injections, and creams. At 518 Medspa, we prefer injections for a few reasons. While pellets only require one procedure and lasts a few months, they lack the flexibility to adjust the prescribed dosage through monitoring of testosterone levels. Injections allow this flexibility and provide a quicker result and precise dosage as compared to topical creams.

Could you benefit from BHRT?

Men’s natural levels of testosterone decrease over time due to age. Other factors can also contribute including stress, environmental factors, physical trauma, drug or alcohol use, etc. Benefits of BHRT can include:

  • Increased energy
  • Improved libido & sexual function
  • Improved muscle mass and bone density
  • Better Mood
  • Weight management
  • Improved cognitive function, memory, & concentration
  • Better sleep
